How to Add the Outbrain Pixel

How to Add the Outbrain Pixel

Kiwify's integration with Outbrain operates through event triggers.

You'll need to create events in your Outbrain account (each event will have a unique name), and then register these events in the Kiwify product settings.

The first step is to obtain your Outbrain pixel ID, known as OB_ADV_ID.

Getting the Outbrain Pixel ID (OB_ADV_ID)

Log in to your Outbrain account. Click on the Conversions menu, and then on Install Pixel

Select the Install pixel manually option and then click on Install

You will then need to extract the OB_ADV_ID from the Pixel's code.

We recommend copying the entire Pixel to a notepad on your computer, and then extracting the OB_ADV_ID.

In the image above, the extracted ID would be: 005ac8c25cf8c87a79d79c832a914d0cc2

Creating Events in Outbrain

In the Conversions menu, click on Add Conversion

Under Type, select the Event-based conversion option and below, select Manual code

Choose a category for the conversion event and write a name

The event name will be the same one you'll register in Kiwify

In the image above, the event name created was sale, but you can choose any name you want.

For instance, you could have a different event name for each product.

Click save at the bottom of the screen

Done, the event has been created in Outbrain, now you need to register the same Pixel and event in Kiwify

Registering the Pixel and Events in Kiwify

You can register up to 5 pixels / conversion events per product in Kiwify.

Just go to Edit Product -> Settings tab, and scroll down to the Pixels section, then click on Outbrain.

Click on add, and fill in the information of the pixel and event you just created in Outbrain.

You can add up to 5 events per product, with different names and combinations. Just repeat the process and configure each one.

For example, you might have one event for checkout visits, and another for approved purchases.

You can always use the same Pixel ID (OB_ADV_ID), and just create different conversion events in Outbrain according to your goals.

Testing the Outbrain Pixel

You can use the Outbrain Pixel Tracker extension on Google Chrome. Download it below:
